Your ERG Questions, Answered

What is an ERG?

An Employee Resource Group (ERG) is a voluntary employee-led group of employees who share a common interest in diversity and inclusion. The ERGs are committed to raising cultural awareness and creating a sense of belonging amongst all Preiss Company employees by providing a safe space to discuss topics, plan events and activities, and support community initiatives when possible.

What are the benefits?

ERGs will provide the opportunity for networking and professional development. Perhaps the most valuable aspect of participation in an ERG is the sense of community and belonging. ERGs contribute greatly to creating a more welcoming and inclusive work environment, one that supports and celebrates diversity.

Who can participate?

Participation in the ERGs is inclusive and open to all employees. The name/title of the ERG does not restrict its membership. This means that while their mission might focus on the cultural issues of a particular group of people around a shared identity, all are welcome! They especially welcome “allies” who share the same commitment, values, and goals as the members of the particular ERG.

What will be required of me to participate in an ERG?

Participation levels vary widely and depend on the ERG and your role within the group. ERGs meet virtually every month for 1 hour and there may be additional opportunities to participate outside of the regularly scheduled meeting.

What steps are required to join?

It’s simple! Just join the next available meeting.

No need to apply or register.

Can I join more than one ERG?

Yes! We encourage you to join as many ERGs as you would like.

What does diversity, equity and inclusion mean to the Preiss Company

Learning as much as I can about what makes us all different in our own amazing ways. Being the same is boring :)
